The American made denim fashion company, Levi Strauss & Co. took to Twitter to announce on Tuesday that is launching a series of new initiatives to benefit organizations working to prevent and reduce gun violence in America. The Company who in recent years have taken the opportunity to work with various street artist around the globe and create relationships with cultural influencers through their press release decided that they as a brand and as an American company “simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work.” According to their Tweet posted last last night they were stepping into a new space of fashion awareness with their latest partnership with organizations who are working to reduce and prevent gun violence within the communities in America and in D.C.
“We are stepping up our support for gun violence prevention in multiple ways.”
The company will be a cornerstone for a new three-tiered initiative to support gun violence prevention.
- The company will donate more than $1 million over the next four years to nonprofits and youth activists that work to end gun violence, establishing the “Safer Tomorrow Fund.”
- The blue jean manufacturer also partnered with gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety and other executives to form Everytown Business Leaders for Gun Safety.
- Levi’s will also double all donations made by their employees to the Safer Tomorrow Fund.
Over the recent years brands have been increasingly become part of their communities of consumers, as well as increased their charity contributions to organizations their consumers believe matter the most within the culture. Good for Levi taking a step up to reduce gun violence while openly expressing their goal is to reduce violence and maintain the second amendment.
