Riri sides with Kap on this one!
A lot of discussion on and off social media about Rihanna’s next appearance since focusing on her FENTY line, but the pop star has also been working on music. A rumored Reggae album is in the works with over 100 tracks already recorded. Not to early to plan an appearance performance, according to ET the NFL approached the singer about a possibility to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime. While the Halftime show is a great look for a performer, I think any platform Rihanna touches at the moment is ‘the’ platform where people will gravitate towards. So the global star took a pass on the offer because according to sources her issues related to players kneeling in protestation of police brutality were bigger than a performance platform.
“Rihanna was the front-runner for next year’s super bowl halftime show,” a source told ET. “CBS and the NFL reached out to Rihanna first, who after thinking about the offer, decided to pass due to the NFL and the situation regarding players kneeling. The offer and exposure would have been great for Rihanna as she’s planning a new album and tour but she stuck to what’s right in her eyes.”
Rihanna turning down an offer from the NFL to perform at the SuperBowl 2019 Halftime show was an opportunity to publicly display her support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, according to a new report in US Weekly.
