The docu-film covers Thurgood “Marshall” early years as a young lawyer within the civil rights era, tasked with defending a black chauffeur in a highly publicized sexual assault case. Which in many cases still haunt the civil rights era. Paired with young Jewish lawyer at the time, Friedman in a segregationist court, he’s forced to fight racism as he and Friedman work their case. The case helped encouraged to stage for the future Civil Rights Movement. Thurgood later became a Judge where he continued his activism through law.
