It was a major milestone for the Bet Awards broadcasting their 20th-anniversary award show from a social distancing platform.
After all, the 2020 BET Awards, celebrated a usual star-studded evening celebrating the very best in black entertainment. Along with it being their first social-distancing event, they also celebrated a 20th award show over the weekend. The entire event took place virtually. A tribute to Kobe Bryant and Little Richard took center-stage. While other virtual performances featured Alicia Keys, Chloe x Halle and Megan Thee Stallion. Michelle Obama virtually presented Beyoncé with the Humanitarian Award for her decades-long commitment to philanthropy. If you missed the event I’m sure you’ll be able to catch it during the week.
Besides the cast, it was a huge night for some of the biggest entertainers. Lizzo, Chris Brown, and Migos were all a part of the celebration earning themselves another Bet Award for their entertainment contribution. Roddy Ricch was the biggest winner of the night, with three Bet Awards.
