The Grammy 2020 Award nominees are led by the year’s most talked-about Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, and Ariana Grande.
While we celebrate the nominees this month with the release of the Grammy 2020 Nomination list, we also reminded about the late Nipsey Hussle who scored 3 posthumous 2020 Grammy nominations. Leading the pack this year is Lizzo (eight), Billie Eilish (six), Lil Nas X (six), and Ariana Grande (five) and H.E.R. (five) topping the list of most award nominations in their respective categories.
While there has been a general embrace of younger artists and a gradual one at that, fans of newcomers felt that their favorite artist and some of the years most trending artists were snubbed out of the spotlight like Kehlani, Summer Walker, Normani and Ari Lennox. The Recording Academy also ignores the massive emerging popularity of K-Pop with not a nomination in site for hugely popular boy band BTS. Among other popular artists, there was never a doubt that ‘Hot Girl’ Megan thee Stallion, would have also suffered a subbed as she practically pulled off an artist of the year with her recent string of hits.
The Grammy Awards will take place on January 26, 2019, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The broadcast will air live on CBS at 5:00 PM EST with the return of Alicia Keys.
