defends stripper music…
One of the the women in hip-hop used her platform to throw her support in women in hiphop everywhere. It’s no secret that over the past week the So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri said some really out of touch things during his time on his ‘People Now’ interview. When asked about women in Hip-hip he compared an entire genre of artist and entertainers to ‘Da Brat’ and rightfully Da Brat has accomplished and have been a part of timeless music in the culture but his statements did not reflect the diversity, the take over and the contribution by women in hip-hop.
“I feel like they all rapping about the same thing and I don’t think they’re showing us whose the best rapper,” Dupri said. “For me it’s like strippers rapping. As far as rap goes, I’m not getting who is the best rapper. I’m getting, ‘Oh you’ve got a story about you dancing in the club.’”
Cardi a multi-award music artist (who previously worked as a well known stripper in NYC) native to the Bronx, NYC, uploaded a pair of videos in response to not just give her opinion in reply to the out of touched JD but also use her platform, to say that women who rap about other topics often don’t receive support from the mega-media and wider a hip-hop community of fanbase.

The globally known artist also throw her support for the up-coming acts who is tirelessly working on their own talent and contributing a variety of styles to the industry like Tierra Whack, Kamaiyah, Rapsody, and CHIKA as examples of women in hip-hop who need to be supported more often and deserves such support by said media and fans.
