Disney Co. And Colin Kaepernick partner to bring ‘ImWithKap’ content as a feature on their streaming platform.

On Monday the Disney Co. announced a relationship between their production studios and the former 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick.  While more details have yet to be revealed, we do know that topics like race and social justice will be a focus through scripted and unscripted content. My guess is the deal will allow Kap access to a lot of ESPN files and airtime.  Allowing the activist to explore the intersection of race, sports, and culture with visuals and panel discussions.  As well as access to channels ABC, A&E and Vice Media which Disney all have specific shares in.  Other options would be the development of stories through Pixlar Films and Universal Studio features.

“During this unprecedented time, The Walt Disney Company remains committed to creating diverse and inclusive content that resonates and matters,” Disney Executive Chairman Robert A. Iger said in the announcement. “Colin’s experience gives him a unique perspective on the intersection of sports, culture, and race, which will undoubtedly create compelling stories that will educate, enlighten and entertain, and we look forward to working with him on this important collaboration.”

Seems like Disney has chosen a specific side of history to stand on.  As well as I believe it is the right side.  Kaepernick, on the other hand, is looking to gain back a possible position as a QB within the NFL after their admittance of the handling of his on-field protest.

‘ImWithKap’ is definitely the name of a daytime talks show.
