For the first time in 15-years a Reggae ‘Soul’ duo featuring Skip Marley & H.E.R has acquired #1 spot on the Billboard R&B Adult Charts.
Released on January 2nd the titled song ‘Slow Down’ has a reason to celebrate. Featuring Skip Marley (Yes, Skip Marley is the grandson and spitting image of the great Jamaican musician, Bob Marley) featuring H.E.R is topping the Billboard R&B Adult charts. The last time any Reggae artist occupied this position was almost 15 years ago by Sean Paul and Keyshia Cole.
The soulful blend of Skip and H.E.R taps both sides of R&B and Reggae. The track has been an easy listen since the mp3 was released in November. While the music video has acquired a bit over 12 million views on Youtube, the song according to streaming platforms has been streamed 44 million times globally. Radio stations have also dubbed the song a number one record on urban contemporary stations.
Marley reached out to his followers on social media sending love and a special shout-out to Wale for the introduction.
