Apple and Samsung are friends again, but for how long. In an announcement ahead of this week’s CES conference where various tech companies are making headlines, the two former rivals have announced that an iTunes Movies and TV Shows app will launch on Samsung Smart TV ‘Smart Hub’ listing.  Samsung says the app will launch later during the off 2019, on their Smart TVs and will be added an AirPlay 2 available function in 190 countries worldwide according to Samsung.

Samsung customers will be able to easily access their existing iTunes library and browse the iTunes Store to buy or rent music and movies, from a selection of hundreds of thousands.  iTunes Movies and TV Shows will work seamlessly with Samsung’s Smart TV Services, such as Universal Guide, the New Bixby and Search, to create a consistent experience across Samsung’s platform. When it comes to privacy according to The Verge they have reported that Apple and Samsung’s smart TV ad-tracking features cannot track viewing usage within the iTunes Movies and TV Shows app, in another example of Apple’s focus on privacy.
