Marvel and Fast Color both have leading women characters which again has proven that women and women of color make great lead characters. Marvel knows first hand when the epic film ‘Black Panther‘ won best film award making it their first Oscar to date. It is though interesting that woman and black actors have also led Marvel in other fictional / Scifi movie genres into success. This month nothing has changed and Marvel yet again cast the lead roll to Brie Larson which also features Samuel L. Jackson for the epic release and first debut of the year Captain Marvel.
Among the releases this month, Jordan Peele debuts his sophomore project featuring ‘Us’ movie. Highly anticipated I must add as his first release ‘Get Out’ took home almost 24 different awards ranging from MTV Movie awards to the Academy Awards for best screenplay a lot if expected. There are seven releases this month that I think would be worth your time again a diverse list of genres and cast. Check them out after the jump.
