Chucky Thompson is a Hip Hop and R&B producer extraordinaire who has given us our favorite records, passed away over the weekend.

Guru broke the news on social media that the legendary musician was no longer with us. Family and friends of Chucky Thompson mourned the loss of a mentor and fan of the Hip-Hop community. Carl E. Thompson, nicknamed ‘Chucky’ began playing for Chuck Brown’s legendary Go-Go band, The Soul Searchers, before joining Bad Boy’s in-house production team, The Hitmen. He is most known for his work with B.I.G., Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Nas, Shyne, Kanye West, New Edition, TLC, and many more.

Our condolences go out to the family, friends, and the Hip-Hop community of Chucky Thompson.
