Rapper and reality TV star Waka Flocka rededicates his life and career into being a global mental health advocate.
Mental health awareness has been a growing effort. Not exactly where many of us would like to be. The reality TV star along with his wife has shifted their focus. In a Tweet, the rapper has acknowledged the necessity for mental health awareness. He has announced that he will be dedicating his life and career to the purpose of suicide prevention and mental health.
Waka Flocka has been no stranger to the struggles. Being an entertainer on a global platform has provided Waka with the tools at some point that helped him get through. In the past, he has announced his exit from the music industry at least twice over frustrations with label issues. In his most recent appearance with his wife, they have both engaged in therapy and marriage counseling. Appearing on Marriage Bootcamp the reality tv show on VH1.
On Monday night Waka Flocka released a short tweet about his interest in being an advocate for mental health. Waka’s decision to be an advocate for suicide prevention dates back to 2013. His younger brother, who went by the rap name KayO Redd, unfortunately, committed suicide. Wake expressed through numerous interviews how this affected him moving through life, career, and caring about the people around him.
