Elon Musk isn’t the only one who is gearing up to have a big year in the electric vehicle industry.

Car-buying experts at Edmunds expect a 2.5 percent increase this year. That’s up from 1.9 percent in 2020. Thanks to growing options and interest from automakers and consumers. Nearly three dozen electric vehicles from 21 automotive brands are also expected to hit the showroom this year. Among these are 11 electric sedans, 13 SUVs, and 6 pickup trucks scheduled to make their debut this year.

While mid-size and luxury vehicles are still a common trend in the showroom, many automakers are turning their focus on mid-size and extra-large SUVs. Between January and June 2019, every third passenger vehicle sold was a sport utility vehicle. In 2019, around 200 million SUVs were in operation worldwide. According to data. Which will be a focus on EV brands to cover in the coming years.
