Named executive producer for the Quibi mobile platform, Drake is producing an adaption to the book ’48 Laws Of Power.’
Originally written by Robert Green the book ’48 Laws Of Power’ has risen to a cult following. Despite its popularity, many have describe its contents as toxic. The book published in 2003 will find an adaption by the new executive produce, Drake. Drake has flexed recent production by the revival of the ‘Top Boy’ series on Netflix. The movie aired Season 1 on the UK channel and was then discontinued. This time Drake partners with a few Hollywood legends for the debut adaption of the series on the Quibi mobile video platform.
Drake and his Dreamcrew partner, Adel “Future” Nur (HBO’s Euphoria), executive produce with Dreamcrew’s Jason Shrier, Greene, and Anonymous Content’s Zack Hayden. Anonymous is producing.
“When Drake and I sat down with Robert Greene, it was incredibly inspiring,” said Nur. “The laws allow for a wide range of dynamic storytelling, and Quibi allows us to tell these stories in bite-sized chapters similar to the book.”
Quibi is set to debut April 6 with a roster of some 50 shows, including scripted and unscripted series and what it calls “Daily Essentials” — news, sports, and talk shows. The mobile-centric platform will charge users $5 monthly for an ad-supported version and $8 per month for viewing without ads.
Robert has also partnered with 50 Cent in the past. The debut release of ‘The 50th Law’ organized the strategies used by 50 Cent during his rap career.
