In 2020 there were a few events that came through for those of us in lockdown. Some music, unfortunately, was dead on arrival.

For a year that created a living off streams, there sure were a lot of issues to deal with. Youtube, Spotify, and Tidal all dealt with similar issues in tech, while discussions about payment persist. Youtube discovered a potential hack that was used to create certified plaques, while artists and listeners indulged in streaming music history in the making.

Good;

Releasing Life is good, Laugh Now Cry Later, and Toosie Slide in 2020, Drake has been the trending topic of 2020. Capable of staying relevant even when he’s not releasing music, Certified Lover Boy is already a 2021 highly anticipated release. Solidifying a collaborative effort with Nike, Drake debut his sub-label ‘NOCTA.’ The clothing label included an already sold out 2020 winter wear release.

Bad;

6ix9ine post-prison album.

Maybe;

According to Swizzbeats, you cannot yet count out DMX. According to the producer and art collector, DMX has been continuously working on new music. Apart from his feature on Verzuz TV, the Yonkers Hip-Hop artist is expecting a final debut.

Upcoming;

Jazmine Sullivan, Drake, Sia, FKA Twigs, Travis Scott, Uncle Murda, Kid Cudi, Lil Tecca, Denzel Curry, Nyck Caution, and Lil Wayne are among artists expected to drop musical compilations throughout the year.
