Instagram debut Threads messaging app is a messaging camera app designed to keep in contact with your personal circle of friends.

Here’s something that’s major unnecessary, another messaging app. But unlike the Facebook messaging app that works with just about sharing anything to friends, followers and DM your favs, the Threads messaging app is solely a video messaging app.

Instagram’s emphasis on video chat cannot be overlooked. Threads is a standalone app by Facebook. Designed with the much needed privacy, speed, and your close connections you desire. Threads messaging app will enable you to share photos, videos, messages, and Stories, with a specific close friends list. You are in control of who can reach you on Threads, and you can customize the experience around the people who matter most.

Threads opens directly to a camera and features addable shortcuts.  The app will also need you to update your status using recommendations such as “Studying” and many more for nosey friends.

I believe the app is just a waste of time and memory on your device but check out it maybe you will find some use for it outside of iMessage and Whatsapp apps. While the above Whatsapp also owned by Facebook is optimized to send better quality images and video, I’m not at all for adding more apps for what is already available through Instagram.

If Instagram/Facebook wanted to do something worthwhile with the platforms they would focus on the Portal hardware devices rather than introduce new apps that just honestly overwhelm users other than another threads messaging app used to bother me.
