There is no doubt that Forbes Top-Earning Musicians would have placed Dr. Dre at the top of the list just shy of a billion dollars.

It’s officially the end of another decade. Another generation will eventually step into Hip-Hop and make those charts moving into the 2020s. Not without the return of the Forbes list. Forbes top-earning musicians list takes a look back at the financial decade of the savviest musicians to work in the music business. Topping the list is Dr. Dre, who amounted a tremendous $950 million USD in the last 10 years all thanks to the Beats By Dre investment. The rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, record executive, and audio engineer has earned his money through his 20 percent stake in Beats with Monster Cables followed by the $3 billion acquisition by Apple.

Behind Dre on the top-earning musicians’ list, there is Taylor Swift at $825 million USD top 5 with the most successful global tours and Beyoncé‘s $685 million USD which makes her marriage with Jay Z in the Billions. According to Forbes, the earnings were measured by “looking at touring data from Pollstar, music consumption numbers from Nielsen and interviews with managers, agents and many of the stars themselves,” not accounting living expenses and taxes.
