Jay-Z gives truth to the rumors and announces the launch of the Monogram cannabis strain.
Jay-Z is venturing into the budding cannabis industry. While it has never seemed so through his music, it remains a lucrative investment for the mogul. The first time I saw Emory Jones shared images on his Instagram page of grow beds, I knew there was more to the story. It turns out that the ‘Planes’ crew has been in on the launch of the Monogram cannabis strain the whole time. This specific strain of cannabis will launch in collaboration with Caliva. A cannabis company located in the cannabis state, California.
To promote this new brand Jay-Z has curated a Monogram playlist with a ‘Sounds from the grow room’ playlist. Songs currently available on Tidal will include Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, and Outkast. The launch of the website shares seductive shots of buds but leaves little or no real offers. Although the site entices fans and would-be customers to sign up for the ‘first in line for the drop’ there’s no telling what’s to come.
Even though Snoop Dogg, Whoopi Goldberg, and even Martha Stewart have added cannabis to their list of budding investments, weed is still illegal in more than half of the country.
