Along with host Alicia Keys, Grammys 2020 brought Boys To Men and an all-star cameo to salute 2 of Los Angles icons during the presentation.
The presentation at the Grammy’s 2020 took on a whole new meaning this year. Alicia Keys re-emerged as this year’s host. According to ratings the Grammys televised show has risen in ratings since a 2018 flop. Along with Alicia Keys, the presentation award show dedicated tributes as promised. Nipsey Hussle and the unexpected passing of the NBA Laker legend Kobe Bryant early Sunday morning. Including a performance from Boyz To men and an all-star tribute from DJ Khaled who took home a Grammy award for ‘Winner’ featuring John Legend and Nipsey Hussle.
Before the evening was over pop singer Billie Eilish took a sweep with 10 Grammy wins in their category along with Lil Nas X for ‘Old Town Road’ hit. Tyler the Creator and Diddy among others used their soapbox to speak about the consistent injustice when it comes to the culture and business of Hip-Hop within its category. The fact that far too often the genre is being overlooked by a simplified category using the term ‘urban’ which bundles the entire business into least of the popular categories.
